With the Rugby World Cup beginning this weekend we dedicated a whole blog on the best places to watch and soak up the atmosphere of the competition in West London. So if your plan this weekend is to immerse yourself in all things rugby then be sure to check out our recommendations! To view this blog simply click on the link below:

However, if the prospect of a weekend watching the rugby doesn’t excite you then this week’s guide has some great ideas for how to spend your time away from the rugby pitch!

It’s London Fashion Week this week, but if you haven’t been able to secure any tickets then we have a selection of tasty fashion week treats to distract you! The Mayfair Hotel is hosting the official LFW afternoon tea and it is something truly beautiful. As can be seen in the image below, the selection of miniature cakes and desserts are works of art in their own right. This feast for the eyes includes cinnamon infused scones and Somerset brie and chutney sandwiches’ as well as a full selection of beautifully presented teas and optional champagne.  For more information visit:

Alternatively, if you prefer watching LFW from the comfort of your own living room then local biscuit shop Biscuiteers in Notting Hill’s selection of beautiful fashion week-inspired treats would perfectly accompany watching the runway at home! These adorable biscuits (shown below) include trench coats, lipsticks and stilettos which you can mix and match and can even be delivered right to your door! After reaching the end of the week the best thing to do is to relax and enjoy some comfort food. What better way to experience this than at The Fish House in Notting Hill where the simple menu offers classics including fish cakes, scampi and, of course, cod and chips. The perfect place to hide from the crisp autumnal winds, the cosy dining area, golden chips, rustic mushy peas and tangy tartare sauce offer a sanctuary like no other!

If you want to be adventurous and venture beyond West London this weekend, then we have the perfect excuse! In Saint John’s Square on Saturday between 2-4pm, the Zetter Townhouse are hosting a gin cocktail masterclass, taking you on a through the evolution of production methods and styles of the nation’s favourite tipple. The class also gives you the opportunity to make (and consumer test) a range of delicious gin cocktails! You will learn how to create a G&T based on the original form and also try your hand at crafting Martinez with dry gin and old Tom, a Koln martini, the classic gimlet and levante as well as a Ramos-two-ways gin fizz! If you are looking for something that’s perfect for the children this weekend (less gin, more milkshakes) then the Bayswater All Star Lanes bowling alley is the perfect place to strike lucky! With a selection of fries, nachos and milkshakes for the kids and olives, steaks and salads for the grown-ups the menu is perfect for a fun family day out as well as the opportunity to indulge in a healthy family bowling competition!
