With the arrival of Hyde Parks annual Winter Wonderland the festive season is officially here and we’ve planned a weekend full of cosy late-autumnal activities to ease you into the weeks of tinsel, glitter and fairy lights to come!

Top of our weekend to-do list is the fabulously festive Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Opening on Friday, the Parks annual tribute to seasonal fun paced with fairground rides, Santa land, ice skating and more festive food than even Father Christmas could consume a visit to Hyde Park this weekend is the perfect recipe for festive thinking! If you have children, we recommend visiting the park sooner rather than late to avoid the massive crowds. Over the weekend why not indulge in some exotic cuisine; Ognisko, a Polish restaurant in Knightsbridge is the perfect location to relax in a familiar environment whilst also offering the very best of Polish culinary culture. Opened in 1940, this traditional restaurant is serving up baskets of fresh bread, pickles, wheat flour dumplings and Baltic Barszcz so there really is no excuse not to expand your culinary horizons and head to this established West London hot spot! Alternatively, The Zetter Hotel in Farringdon’s restaurant and bar are being transformed into a neon- and meat-filled diner by street food favourites Le Bun for a five-week residency. The French-American inspired menu will include tempting dishes such  as Duck Fries Poutine and a brunch menu will be served at weekends with bottomless prosecco! Finally, the best way to acknowledge the start of the festive season is to head to Oxford Street and admire the beautiful Christmas ‘orb’ lights, Harrods sparkling exterior and the famous Selfridges window displays. There’s no better way to catch stocking-filler-fever than to stroll down London’s most festive street and maybe even start buying those all-important gifts!
