This year’s early Easter may have left you feeling unprepared but we have found some fantastic and easy hints for creating the perfect festive springtime home. A well as an obvious excuse to eat plenty of sweet treats, Easter is a wonderful time to welcome fresh flowers, trimmings and the occasional novelty luminous yellow chick into your home. Decorating your home for the Easter weekend is also a great opportunity to involve little ones with fun handmade decorations, painted eggs and the all-important egg hunt!

Our top Easter home tip is to get as many fresh, seasonal flowers and blossom sprigs into your home. Many of us at YOUhome have fond memories of hanging Easter decorations from apple, pear and cherry blossom cuttings. An ‘Easter Tree’ can act as a centrepiece as well as providing an opportunity to indulge in pretty novelty hanging bunnies, eggs and chicks.  We particularly love John Lewis’ box of twelve decorative eggs, complete with ribbon to hang from your trimming of choice! Alternatively, you can get crafty with your Easter Tree, this simple but effective tree is created by using a glue gun jelly beans to apple tree branches, the effect is festive and fun and something that we will definitely be trying on Good Friday!

Over the Easter weekend be sure to fill your vases with an array of daffodils and tulips, adding a pop of festive colour to your home while also celebrating the beginning of spring!

Another conundrum that can only happen at Easter is where on earth to put all the chocolate! We advise filling these sweet bunny glass jars from Marks and Spencer with an ensemble of colourful foil wrapped treats. Not only will these jars elicit wide eyed hopefulness from children and adults alike, they are a great way to add a fun colourful hit to your home over Easter.
