Government borrows £11.6bn in August

Good growth but high government borrowing means new ways required to raise more tax.

Government borrowed £45.5bn for first 5 months of financial year, this equates to £2.6bn more than last year!

National debt currently £1.3 trillion - 77% of UK GDP.
